Finding Your Perfect Palette

Bridal magazines will tell you that the best way to get started with your wedding planning is to pick a theme. Color palettes aren’t the only type of theme you can use—we’ll talk about other options soon—but they’re a great place to start. Here are some of my favorite resources:
Martha Stewart Weddings sets the bar for combinations that are both innovative and sophisticated. This one’s a no-brainer.
Style Me Pretty has a great color palette section, where you can see how real brides interwove their colors throughout an entire affair. This is a great way to see if colors that you like in theory look good in practice.
For an endless array of color combinations and thousands of pictures to draw inspiration from, The Knot’s color palette section is a one-stop shop.
And for the truly style-obsessed bride, no color palette tour is complete without a visit to the Eclatante Design blog, A Designer’s Diary. Here, creator Kendall Brown features monthly color stories that will make you swoon. Don’t believe me? Check out their December Color Story, featuring a palette of onyx, gold, and emerald. Love, love, love!

Check back in later this week, when I’ll be featuring some of my favorite color palettes, as well as inspiration boards inspired by Deb and Jen’s post on the hottest colors of 2010!
