Flower Bike
Some brides choose to marry at their local hometown church or at least at some traditional locale in the city where they marry. But for those couples who choose those unusual or non-traditional locales we always try to suggest to them that for their flower choices they let the local sights, scenery, and surroundings guide them and influence the look and feel of their flowers for their wedding.
If you’ve chosen a southwestern location among the canyons and cactus, think Palm Springs, Sedona, or Las Vegas. The potential color palette will want to reflect the landscapes natural rusts and turquoise you will find in these areas. Rusty-sand tones, fiery blooms, and palm-tree jewel tones will be the colors of the flowers you will want to incorporate in your bouquet or accent ribbons. Flower Examples: Flame Calla lilies, “Sahara taupe roses”, Naranja roses, Terranova roses, oscularia succulents, muscari, ivy, Juliette orange roses, white spray roses, scabiosa pods, echeveria, and heuchera leaves.
If you going for that romantic look on a formal pathway or on regal grounds, that stroll down the garden path is always a classic wedding look. This floral look tends to be more casual, it usually includes flowing greenery beyond the classic floral blooms and don’t forget to add some accessories, like a vintage umbrella for that added touch. Here, in the picture to the left, our bride had her childhood bike decorated by FlowerWorks as a whimsical addition to her garden family estate wedding adding that romantic vintage feel. Flower examples: Bianca Candy roses, Dusty miller, Annabelle, ranunculus, hydrangeas, chocolate cosmos, Japanese anemones, giant variegated ivy, blushing bride roses, hypericum, bupieurum, snowball viburnum.
If it’s warm trade winds in your future with sunny beaches then you will want to be sure you check with the local vendor at the destination of your wedding locale to be sure any flower selection you may make is available, however this is the time to let your imagination go wild with unusual color combinations and “tropic” inspired themes. Think St. Tropez or South Miami Beach! If however that is too over the top you can mute it somewhat and go with more understated green, white, or pink orchids as well. However, the bright color combinations of the pink or fuchsia and turquoise orchids with orange roses could be quite bold and stunning against a flowing white beach wedding dress. Flower examples: Bombay celosia, karadise roses, Amsterdam roses, cattleya orchids, milva roses, delphinium blossoms, pink ostrich plume ginger, tulip anthuriums, Rosita vendela roses, mini calla lilies, ginger, gerbera daisies.
Remember, still always let your flowers bring forth your personal style and be a reflection of you as a couple, regardless of your destination.
